Stefano Pioli has been dealt a boost as Simon Kjaer appears to be closing in on a full return from injury, according to a report.

Milan are still battling an injury crisis of sorts as Kjaer, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Rade Krunic were unavailable for the game yesterday, Junior Messias missed out too as he was not at his best condition, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to battle Achilles swelling and the latest blow is that Alessandro Florenzi is out too.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, Kjaer trained with the rest of the squad today at Milanello. After the muscular problem he sustained against Juventus, the Danish centre-back is back at the disposal of Pioli in view of the Champions League match against Atletico Madrid at San Siro on Tuesday night.

It is a big boost for Milan’s defence, who should therefore be able to call upon their leader again.
