AC Milan are looking to strengthen their midfield in the summer mercato, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic has approved of a target that the Rossoneri may pursue – he currently plays for one of the Swede’s former clubs.

The main offsets of the window will be a new central defender and a new No.9, two positions which have needed new investment in recent years, and this summer will be the time for it. However, there is also a desire to strengthen Milan’s midfield.

Additionally, given that Ismael Bennacer is a concrete target for some Saudi Pro League clubs, and there is a growing chance that he could leave, it adds to the need for reinforcement in the position. In December 2022, Ibrahimovic offered some praise to the midfielder, and given he has a large say in the club’s transfers, this could be significant in their decision.
