AC Milan are not best pleased with how the French national team doctors looked after Mike Maignan in his recovery, according to a report.

Pietro Mazzara writes in his column for MilanNews that indiscretions first emerged from the French colleagues regarding the recovery plan of the France national team doctor, according to which Franck Le Gall asked Mike Maignan to try and shorten the recovery times.

As part of this, he asked Milan’s No.1 goalkeeper to carry out hyper-stressful tests on his calf, which went against the program drawn up at Milanello. From the day of Mike’s second calf injury, Milan had a clear idea of the procedure to follow also because Maignan is a player who puts a lot of stress on his calves due to his athletic goalkeeping style.

As such, having too many problems in the muscles of the lower limbs is something that can also have repercussions in the future. There has been collaboration between Milan and France, but the precautionary approach adopted by the Rossoneri’s Dr. Mazzoni’s and his staff was the right one.

Maignan also had to curb his well-known eagerness to make the World Cup to avoid further damage, but he will be available again when training resumes, where he will certainly have to find his match rhythm.

Maignan’s regret at not going to the World Cup is human and understandable, but the World Cup will return in four years when he will be France’s undisputed starter.
