There was some good news at Milanello today as Alessandro Florenzi rejoined the squad for training for the first time in many months.
According to MilanNews, Florenzi trained with his team-mates for the first time since the serious injury suffered during the preseason tour of the United States.
The full-back suffered ligament and meniscal damage which forced him to undergo arthroscopic surgery and he was expected to miss most of the season, which he has due to the long recovery time.
In what was a nice touch, the rest of the Milan squad greeted him with applause as he came onto the training field at Milanello. Now, a period of getting back towards match fitness begins.
Now, the mission for the former Roma man is to get back on the field as soon as possible and perhaps even compete with Kyle Walker for a starting spot. His deal runs out at the end of the season, so a mission to earn a new deal may be on the cards too.
The bad news is that Ruben Loftus-Cheek did not train with the rest of his team-mates today either, but continued his personalised work. That means the chances of him being back against Lecce on Sunday are fading.
