When it was announced the Gogio Donnarumma wouldn’t renew his contract, many wondered how Milan would replace him. They quickly signed Mike Maignan and the Frenchman is now ready to begin his adventure.
Of course, this all took place a few weeks ago, but it will be made very clear tonight as Maignan is expected to make his debut for Milan. As highlighted by MilanNews, the comparisons with Donnarumma were inevitably, but he seems up for it.
Tonight’s clash, against Nice at Allianz Riviera, will be the Rossoneri’s third friendly game of the pre-season. Maignan was on vacation during the first two as he took part in the Euros with France, thus granted a longer vacation.
As mentioned, the game will be just another evidence of the fact that Milan really have moved on from Donnarumma. In reality, they moved on almost straight away and now they can only focus on the upcoming season.
