Despite being one man up for most of the game, and then two men up, AC Milan had to work hard to get the win against Bologna last night. They got it in the end, though, and that’s all that matters.

As highlighted by MilanNews, the Rossoneri got the job done and are at least momentarily first in the Serie A standings. They also equaled a record last night: it’s their best start to a season since 1954/55 (also eight wins in the first nine games).

With nine players injured, including five starters, it was never going to be easy for Milan but of course, they could have defended their lead better. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his teammates succeeded, albeit with a lot of hard work and another ‘crazy scoreline’, but they succeeded.

These games can certainly be avoided with a bit more concentration and last night was a perfect example of that. However, Stefano Pioli isn’t like Max Allegri, who has made a habit out of winning games narrowly and with little drama. But that doesn’t matter, because Pioli gets the three points anyway.
