Stefano Pioli and the AC Milan squad will take most of the praise and plaudits from the Scudetto win, but they had a fantastic team behind them who also deserve mentioning.

MilanNews writes that when factoring in those at Casa Milan and Milanello we are talking about a team of around 200 people, each committed to giving the best in their skills. The cooks, waiters, attendants, security officers and gardeners all do their bit, and it is the hard work of each of them that keeps everything running smoothly.

They range from Chef Giulio, who talks daily with the club nutritionists, and then the waiters who now know the tastes and preferences of the players by heart. Several players even took their evening meal home directly from Milanello so as not to go overboard on the calorie level, and presumably because the food is great.

There is around fifty people at Milanello including Giampaolo Bompiano who is known as ‘Rambo’ and is the head of security of the team. The serenity and safety of the team is of paramount importance, and he knows it well.

Through the Milanello reception to the office dedicated to the communication team there are around eight steps, and that office is where Ugo Allevi works, the man who has been Rossoneri press officer for some time. Other members of the team are also in the offices there.

There is even a chef for away games called Michele Persichini, who was Silvio Berlusconi’s personal chef and has continued to follow Milan on the road. His role is very important because he has to organise with the hotels all around the country, ordering kilos of pasta, dozens of bottles of tomato sauce, selected meats and even things for the pre-game snack and post-match dinner.

Leading the team bus is Domenico Gelsomino who ended up being photographed plenty throughout a historic season, while another long-serving driver called Orazio Schipani – or ‘The Uncle’ – takes care of players.

In addition to that there are masseurs, physiotherapists, athletes, the medical staff led by Dr. Mazzoni. This Scudetto is not just for the team, the coach and the management, but also everyone behind the scenes.
