AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli received some positive indications from Aster Vrankcx’s performances over the international break.

Vranckx was one of the last signings of the summer transfer window as he arrived on an initial loan deal from Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg and he has only played once for Milan so far off the bench in the win over Sampdoria, as his adaptation process continues.

As MilanNews reports, the 19-year-old played both of games with Belgium U21 and had the captain’s armband too. He played all 90 minutes in the first game against the Netherlands, and then played for 70 minutes against France.

He had good performances in both games and another important indication came, as Vranckx played as a box-to-box midfielder in a 4-3-3 system and then in the double pivot in a 4-2-3-1, which is good news for Pioli as he looks for options that increase the flexibility in midfield
