AC Milan are determined to give head coach Stefano Pioli two more holding midfielders in addition to Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, Milan’s market will begin to take off once the renewals of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu are signed and sealed.

One of the priorities for the management will be to strengthen the midfield, as Pioli will continue with a 4-2-3-1 but alternatives to Kessie and Bennacer are needed.

Pioli himself, during the last press conference of the season, explained like this: “The midfield department cannot be composed of only two starters, but it is clear that four will be needed.”

Biglia’s contract has expired, so Rade Krunic is the only back-up option at the moment, and there continues to be rumours linking him with Torino.

This is why the name of Tiemouè Bakayoko is back in fashion, a player who left the Rossoneri a year ago but whose profile has always remained an option.

The Frenchman has a contract with Chelsea until 2022 and a high salary that will need to be slashed in order to make it happen, bit Milan are seriously thinking about making a move.

Chelsea have no plans to drop their €20m valuation for the time being, so the Rossoneri management intend to wait a few more weeks, convinced that the English club will lower their claims. The solution for the success of the deal could be a paid loan with obligation to buy.
