In the next few months, contacts will start being made to players who will be without a club at the end of the 2024/25 season, and it seems AC Milan could be targeting a Manchester United defender due to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s knowledge of the player.

The defence has been an area of interest for Milan in recent years, and it seems that they will look to add further defensive coverage to their ranks via the free agent market. As suggested by Milan Live (via Stretty News), the Rossoneri are reigniting their interest in Swedish defender Victor Lindelof – given his contract runs out in the summer of 2025.

It is believed that the defender earns around €140k per week in Manchester currently, so that figure would have to be reduced for a deal to happen you’d imagine. With his contract expiring in the summer, the Diavolo can negotiate a deal from January on pre-contract conditions, but a permanent deal could also be looked into, which is the aim of the Red Devils according to the report.

With Ibrahimovic looking to add his compatriot to Milan’s squad ‘at all costs’ paying for a January move would not be out of the question, but it would reignite questions about Pierre Kalulu’s exit if a decent fee was spent on an older injury-prone defender.
