Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s announcement as an Inter player will have to wait until his AS Roma contract expires, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Giallorossi still hold certain rights over the Armenian midfielder which prohibit Inter from officially naming him as their player until his deal with AS Roma explores on June 30.

That means that July 1 will be the Nerazzurri’s first chance to officially unveil the former Manchester United and Arsenal player to the fans.

The deal is in place and Henrikh Mkhitaryan has signed his Inter contract and undergone his medical examinations. He chose to join Simone Inzaghi’s side as it meant that he could play in the Champions League again.

Inter are excited to have the 33-year-old in place ready for pre-season training to start on July 6. He can provide depth in many different midfield areas.
