AS Roma head coach Paulo Fonseca hasn’t always been able to call on Henrikh Mkhitaryan this season. The Arsenal loanee suffered a couple of injuries in the first half of the campaign, leaving him on 15 appearances so far.

All the same, the 31-year-old is doing well when he does feature. He provided a goal and an assist in Roma’s win over Lecce on Sunday, his sixth and seventh goal contributions of the campaign.

As a result, Mkhitaryan won the Man-of-the-Match award for his performance. His head coach suggested after the game that they want to keep him around in Rome.

“Mkhi during this season got some injuries but he is returning now and he is proving his quality. Let’s see,” Fonseca said. “He is a player with great decisions on the pitch and I would also like to keep Mkhi in our team.”

For the opening goal at the weekend, Mkhitaryan actually won the ball back to start the move in the first place. He then slipped it through to Cengiz Ünder to score.

Mkhitaryan then doubled the lead, finishing off a quick counter-attack. Edin Dzeko picked the ball up on the left-hand side and played a pass into the Arsenal loanee. It was a tight angle, but he finished well with his left foot.

You can watch the assist and the goal at 0:16 and 1:27 respectively in the below video:
