Henrikh Mkhitaryan feels Inter‘s new signing  Tajon Buchanan is ‘a little bit shy’ but is convinced his teammates ‘will help him settle in.’

The former Roma and Manchester United midfielder joined his coach, Simone Inzaghi, in front of cameras and reporters.

The Supercoppa has a new format this season with four teams involved playing semifinals and Final. The winner between Inter and Lazio will face Napoli or Fiorentina who play tonight.

“It’s the first time I have played with this kind of format; it’s something new and special,” Mkhitaryan said, as quoted by TMW.

“We’ll do our best to reach the Final and win. A trophy counts in the end. It’s not easy, but we’ll do our best. We want to make the fans happy.

“Lazio are a team that play good football. They know how to attack and defend,” he continued.

“We faced them last month and struggled a bit initially. We’ll need more than 100% tomorrow to do what we want and win the game. It won’t be easy; we play against a strong team, and it’s a semifinal.”

New signing Buchanan is available for the game but is not expected to start, and Mkhi was asked about his first impressions of Canada International.

“He is a good guy, a little shy. He needs time and we will help him settle in. Obviously, he has quality, as we’ve seen in training. He has quality and pace. We’ll try to help him in the future,” the experienced midfielder replied.

Mkhitaryan has been a key player for Inter this season, with two goals and seven assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

He has recently signed a contract extension at the Stadio Meazza until June 2026.
