Missimo debuts in USL Super League, Godínez scores winner for Chivas

MIAMI – The USL Super League welcomed its newest star as women’s soccer ramps up in the United States while CF Pachuca and Club América continue in a close race at the top of Liga MX Femenil, as action continues across Concacaf W leagues.
Club América and Tigres UANL are among the top five in the Liga MX standings, with the 2024/25 Concacaf W Champions Cup Finals awaiting them in May. NJ/NY Gotham FC and Portland Thorns, the other semifinalists, continue to prepare for the start of the 2025 NWSL season.
The USL Super League resumed its 2024/25 season with Dallas Trinity FC playing to a 1-1 draw against Tampa Bay Sun FC. Former Texas Longhorns star Lexi Missimo made her professional debut and scored four minutes into the match in front of 3,183 at the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium.
Carolina Ascent FC won 2-1 against Lexington SC in the other weekend encounter. Brooklyn FC leads the standings with 29 points, followed by Dallas and Carolina, each with 24 points, and Tampa Bay Sun FC, with 21 points, rounds out the top four.
CF Pachuca continues to lead the standings with 25 points after nine matchweeks in the Liga MX Femenil Clausura 2025 season. Las Tuzas added another three points with a 3-1 victory at Santos Laguna. Charlyn Corral added another goal to her tally, improving to 14, as she continues to lead the Golden Boot race.
Club América earned a 3-1 win over Pumas UNAM to improve to 24 points and remain one point removed from first place. Pumas remained in third place with 19 points.
CD Guadalajara earned a 1-nil win over Toluca to improve to fourth place on 18 points. Damaris Godínez struck the dramatic match-winner, striking a header in the box in the 90’+2.
Tigres UANL earned a 5-nil away victory against its rival CF Monterrey. The result lifts Las Amazonas to fifth on 17 points. Despite the loss, Rayadas remain in the Liguilla race, placing seventh with 16 points.
FC Juárez is sixth with 17 points despite falling 1-nil against Mazatlán FC. Club Tijuana won 3-1 at Necaxa to improve to 15 points and rise to eight, rounding out the current playoff picture.
