According to Sky Germany, there is a possibility that Miroslav Klose will return to Kaiserslautern but this time as their head coach.

The former striker is one of the candidates to replace Dirk Schuester who was relieved of his role earlier this week. Klose has managerial experience having been in charge of Austrian side SCR Altach until March of this year.

Klose is ready for the next challenge in his career but a return to Kaiserslautern is not 100% certain as other clubs have shown interest in the Mens World Cup top scorer.

Klose was on the books of Kaiserslautern from 1999 until 2004 when he joined Werder Bremen for a club record departure of €5m.

Kaiserslautern are currently 11th in the 2.Bundesliga after a run of five games without a win in the league saw them drop down the table. One positive of Kaiserslautern’s season has been their DFB-Pokal run where they beat 1.FC Köln to qualify for the round of 16 where they will play fellow second-division side Nürnberg.
