Former Inter and Atletico Madrid defender Joao Miranda believes ‘whoever wins this game will go on to lift the Champions League trophy this season.’
It kicks off at the Wanda Metropolitano at 20.00 GMT.
The Nerazzurri have the advantage of winning the first leg 1-0 at San Siro thanks to a late Marko Arnautovic strike.
However, Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid have an extraordinary record on home turf in LaLiga and Europe.
A man who represented both clubs in his career is retired defender Joao Miranda.
“The fans are really fired up here and the atmosphere will be an advantage, but I expect Inter supporters to make their voice heard too,” Joao Miranda told Sky Sport Italia and Amazon Prime Video Italia.
“I think whoever wins this game will go on to lift the Champions League this season.”
Inter are in remarkable form after winning all 13 competitive games played in 2024 and reached the Champions League Final last year, losing narrowly to Manchester City.
“Atletico are struggling recently, but they can get back on track with this crowd. Simeone’s teams always defended well and had good strikers. He tries to work on the mentality of the players more than their physical or tactical issues.
“As for Inter, they arrive at this test in the best moment of their season. They concede very few goals, are solid and prolific upfront too, so they feel really confident.”
Miranda made 178 appearances in the Atletico Madrid jersey, scoring 13 goals, while he also had 121 games in the Inter shirt.
