There hasn’t been a better player in Europe this season than Miralem Pjanić.
That’s according to the well-respected research group CIES, who have crunched the numbers and reveal just who has been performing the best across the continent’s top five leagues.

Pjanić comes out on top, just ahead of Inter’s Stefano Sensi and Atalanta forward Papu Gómez.
The Juventus playmaker has played nine times in all competitions so far for Maurizio Sarri’s men, scoring twice and assisting a further two more.
There’s no Premier League representation on their list, but there is a place for two Real Madrid players and two more from Paris Saint-Germain.
