Mino Raiola tried to sign Donny van de Beek as a client amidst Manchester United feud

According to Dutch journalist Mike Verweij (h/t Daily Star), Manchester United outcast Donny van de Beek changed agents recently and was approached by Mino Raiola while doing so.

The Italian super-agent has the clientele of several stars in world football, including Ryan Gravenberch –the Ajax talent United have been monitoring amidst a potential move. However, one of his more famous moves was getting the Red Devils to re-sign Paul Pogba from Juventus back in 2016 for a world-record transfer fee at the time.

However, this time around, Raiola tried to poach Van de Beek, who has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford. The Dutch international has suffered for minutes in the past year and is yet to start a Premier League game this season.

In fact, things have gotten even worse in recent weeks as the 24-year-old has not been brought off the bench for five consecutive games to prove his talent or make a case to start. Thus, a move could be on the cards in January, and the former Ajax midfielder changed agents to make that happen.

He let go of Guido Albers and signed with Ali Dursun, who is also the agent of the player’s former teammate Frenkie de Jong. However, had Raiola got the business of fringe star, things might have heated up in the United camp.

The super-agent certainly does not share a good relationship with the club and Solskjaer, with the latter getting riled up by the comments made by the agent in December last year over Pogba’s contract issue.

Regardless, it looks like Van de Beek has made a smart choice in Dursun, but it remains to be seen where the Dutchman plays his football in 2022.
