Minnesota United have strengthened their goalkeeping options with the signing of Clint Irwin via free agency, the club announced Tuesday.
Irwin has signed a two-year contract at Allianz Field, keeping him with the Loons through the 2024 MLS season.
"Excited to join a great club and be part of a great city," the goalkeeper wrote on social media. "We're gonna build something this summer!"
The 33-year-old arrives with over a decade of MLS experience, keeping 34 clean sheets in 137 appearances to date during spells with Toronto FC and, most recently, the Colorado Rapids.
Minnesota United had been looking slightly thin between the sticks following the departure of back-up Tyler Miller to DC United via free agency.
Just as he did for Will Yarbrough with the Rapids, Irwin will now serve as back-up to MNUFC first choice and Canada international Dayne St. Clair.
Adrian Heath's side are looking to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs for the fifth consecutive season in 2023.
