The 20-year-old will join the team as a homegrown player in exchange for a third-round selection in the upcoming 2023 MLS SuperDraft, as well as $75,000 in General Allocation Money if performance-based incentives are met.

Dunbar signed a professional contract from the LA Galaxy academy to the first team back in 2020, where he made his MLS debut against the Portland Timbers in the MLS is Back Tournament.

Dunbar then made 18 regular-season appearances for the first team, recording three starts during the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

While playing for the reserve team LA Galaxy II, he made 33 appearances between 2020 and 2022, scoring 12 goals and provided three assists. On the national team level, he played for the United States at the Under-17 level, where he made one appearance back in 2018.

Minnesota will also pay the Galaxy 20% of the transfer fee if Dunbar is sold outside of MLS.
