Mings expects studying from Aston Villa teammate McGinn ahead of England vs Scotland

Scotland star John McGinn will be spying on England players in the leadup to their titanic Euro 2020 group stage clash on Friday.

The Scots are reeling after an opening game 2-0 defeat to the Czech Republic.

A positive result against England may be essential to their hopes of progressing from a group that also includes Croatia.

McGinn's Aston Villa teammate, England centre-back Tyrone Mings, says the midfielder will be trawling through social media to try and learn about England's preparations for the game.

Mings said: "Will John be spying on us this week? Absolutely. There won't be a video that England have put out that John wouldn't have watched.

"He watches everybody. He will be looking at every country. His knowledge and his interest in football is incredible."
