Millwall are said to have seen a bid for FC Utrecht’s attacking midfielder Bart Ramselaar rejected by the Dutch club, as per a recent report by the South London Press.

The Lions have made bringing in a new attacking midfield player one of their main priorities for this transfer window and have since lodged bids for the likes of Derby County’s Louie Sibley and Fortuna Sittard’s Zian Flemming.

Now it has been reported that Ramselaar is another name that they have in their sights as they seek to cast their net wide in search of a new addition.

An offer for the former PSV Eindhoven player has been turned down, with it being unclear at present as to whether the Lions will revisit their interest in the 25-year-old by lodging another bid.

Harry Kane?

Yes No

Ramselaar has scored 15 goals in 62 appearances for his current side and also boasts three international caps for Holland after making his debut at that level back in 2016 against Ireland.

The Verdict

This is a good move for Millwall on paper as it shows that they are willing to dip into the foreign markets as opposed to just targeting players which are right on their doorstep.

Ramselaar is a player with plenty of experience and is certainly someone who could come straight into the team and have a lasting impact moving forwards.

Add to the fact that he is likely to come cheaper in terms of price than domestic based options and it is fair to say that this deal would tick a lot of boxes for the Lions if they pulled it out the bag.

It will therefore be intriguing to see if the club goes back in with another offer, especially as there are many names which seemingly remain on their list of targets for strengthening in that area of the pitch.
