Prior his team’s quarterfinal showdown against Roma, Milan boss Stefano Pioli remarked on his team’s chances to overcome the 1-0 deficit they face entering tonight’s return leg.
The Rossoneri dropped last week’s first leg 1-0 at San Siro, unable to respond to Gianluca Mancini’s first-half headed goal. Despite the result, Pioli’s optimism hasn’t waned and reaffirmed his belief they can advance to the semifinals.
“We’re extremely focused,” Pioli told DAZN. “We’ve prepared in the best way possible, now we’ve got to implement the ideas formulated for this game.”
“We can’t make mistake with our timing such as when we press or get forward. We can’t just be aggressive for the sake of it, we’ve got to do something and act on that aggression.”
Adding, “We can’t force things because we can win this game with the right mindset and making the correct decisions at the right time.”
