Milan’s Bennacer reflects after Roma draw: “Not the result we hoped for” | OneFootball

Milan midfielder Ismaël Bennacer admitted his side were disappointed following their 1-1 draw against Roma on Sunday evening.

Tijjani Reijnders opened the scoring for the Rossoneri early in the first half to give his side the lead. However, their advantage was short lived after Paulo Dybala equalised less than ten minutes later with a superb finish with his right foot—his third goal in two matches.

“We’re united and working well. This wasn’t the result we were hoping for, but we’re trying to win every match,” Bennacer told DAZN.

“We’re making progress and moving forward. It was a special game, but it was also important not to lose. Fonseca? I’m not sure what happened (with his sending off)—everyone was focused on the game.”

He continued, “We’re a team—so we’re not going to point fingers and place blame for the lack of defensive solidity. We don’t concede many goals, and the backline is working well to find balance.”
