Milan youngsters shine in preseason victory over Real Madrid | OneFootball

With heavy rotation on both sides throughout the match, Milan earned a narrow victory over Real Madrid in front of a packed Soldier Field in Chicago.

Neither side could truly build momentum, perhaps due to the patchy nature of each manager’s team selection, resulting in a dearth of attacking flare in the opening 45 minutes.

The game finally came to life after the break when Samuel Chukwueze broke the deadlock before the hour mark.

Similarly to the first-half, Real Madrid struggled to get up a head of steam in attack without any of their star attackers on the pitch, making it relatively easy for the Milan rearguard.

The result will do little to impact the mood of either side however, as their attention will turn to their next respective preparation match.

Milan will look forward to a friendly showdown with Barcelona, while Real Madrid will also square off with their LaLiga rivals.
