Joao Felix is making strides during his early career at Milan. Despite still waiting for his maiden Serie A goal, the Chelsea loanee has quickly established himself as an influential first-team player at the San Siro.
The versatile forward delivered another dazzling performance in an advanced playmaker’s role as Milan squeaked past Hellas Verona last night. He wasn’t on the scoresheet, but Santiago Gimenez was, finding the net in his second consecutive Serie A appearance.
After the game, Felix talked to the press, admitting he’s enjoying his life at Milan.
“I’m very happy here,” the Portuguese star told DAZN via MilanNews. “We are improving day by day. We could have scored more goals, but the important thing is that we got the three points.”
Felix will likely be part of Sergio Conceicao’s starting line-up when Milan and Feyenoord lock horns in the return leg of their Champions League knockout playoff tie at the San Siro. The Rossoneri must play catch-up after a disheartening 1-0 loss in Rotterdam last Wednesday.
“It’s our most important game of the season,” the Milan forward said. “We simply have to win. We really have a lot of quality, we will score, I’m sure of it. We will have to be good at not conceding. We have to win the duels, like we did today.”
Feyenoord will roll into town on Tuesday, eager to protect their slender lead. However, Milan boast plenty of firepower and are still more heavily fancied to progress despite trailing by a goal.
