Milan the Most Active Team in Vlahovic Sweepstakes

Milan continue to be the only team Dusan Vlahovic has shown some interest in joining should Juventus successfully force him out. The talks are somewhat progressing, albeit very slowly.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, Massimiliano Allegri wants a reunion, and the Serb would sign off on the move. On the other hand, he needs to be granted a large severance package first. Plus, he’d have to take a steep cut relative to what he’s earning now. The Rossoneri would have to be willing to pay at least €18/20M. There’s obviously always a chance another side the marksman appreciates will materialize.

Vlahovic has a €20M residual value on the Juventus balance sheet, and Milan could eventually consider a swap if they found a solution on his personal terms, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. They’d propose a defender, preferably Malick Thiaw, whom they have been trying to sell this summer. Strahinja Pavlovic is less likely, as their boss likes him, but so does Igor Tudor.

The negotiation will be a slow burn and eventually come together in deep August, especially if the Rossoneri don’t find another striker with an acceptable price on whom their coaching staff and front office agree, and instead the Old Lady does. Otherwise, the San Siro-based outfit would try to sign the outcast on a Bosman transfer next year.

Our Take on Milan, Juventus, and Vlahovic

The chatter is all well and good, but everything is moot until he shows an inclination to lower his salary. There have been no traces of that for now. A trade would be welcome for the Old Lady. Pavlovic would be quite good in their defensive system.
