Milan striker Oliver Giroud rejects Everton move

AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud (36) has rejected an approach from Premier League relegation-battling outfit Everton, according to a report from Sky Italia journalist Gianluca di Marzio. The Toffees were attempting to lure the French national team’s all-time record goalscorer away from Stadio Giuseppe-Meazza to Goodison Park, but Giroud declined. Everton reportedly offered the former Arsenal man a five-month loan, with incentivised bonuses should Everton avoid relegation. In this case, a €8.4m purchase clause would have been triggered for a one-year deal with the Sean Dyche-led side.

Giroud is of course no stranger to the Premier League. Between 2012 and 2021, he played for Arsenal and Chelsea, winning Europa League in 2019 and the Champions League two years later with the Blues. He scored all in all 90 goals in the Premier League. At Milan, Giroud has been a key player for the Stefano Pioli-led side and played a pivotal role in their Serie A title last year. A fan favourite at the Meazza, the 2018 World Cup winner with France has already scored ten goals this season in all competitions.
