Milan star Rafael Leao has unveiled a surprising new haircut on Instagram, chopping off his iconic locks.

The Portugal international showed off the new look on his Instagram Stories, noting it was a ‘new haircut unlock’ post.

It was not possible to see at the back, but his famous braids appear to have been cut off, leaving only a very short style.

This is not the first time Rafael Leao has sported the streamlined look, but you’d have to go back to his days at Sporting CP to see his hair this short.

That was early on in his career, circa 2019, so it is a big change for the 25-year-old.

He might not even be recognised by many fans on the street now.

It has been a difficult campaign for him, scoring only 11 goals with 12 assists in all competition.

Both of those statistics are lower than the previous three seasons he experienced at Milan, which reached a height of 16 goals and 14 assists in 2022-23.
