Milan forward Noah Okafor has been linked with a possible move to Roma as part of a player exchange deal involving Giallorossi striker Tammy Abraham, but the Rossoneri would now rather keep hold of the Switzerland international, according to Thursday’s reports.
Milan are on the hunt for another striker to compete with summer signing Alvaro Morata heading into the 2024-25 campaign, and Roma’s Abraham has been suggested as a possible target.
Daniele De Rossi’s club are waiting for offers in the region of €25m-€30m for Abraham, having recently spent a similar amount on Artem Dovbyk from Girona, but Milan have been hoping to reduce the asking price even further.
There had been reports that Okafor was being considered as a potential pawn in negotiations with Roma, but reports on Wednesday suggest that Milan would prefer to keep hold of the former RB Salzburg attacker heading into the 2024-25 campaign.
Calciomercato.com add that the player has returned for pre-season training full of motivation to improve and compete for a place in the first team starting line-up. Milan reportedly feel that the coming season could be a turning point in Okafor’s career.
