Serie A giants Milan are now set to appoint Max Allegri as manager and an agreement has now been reached.
The Italian was also linked with a move to Napoli and the Partenopei had put a contract on the table. But Antonio Conte seems to be staying and this has played a key role in Allegri’s decision.
Daniele Longo has reported that Allegri has given a positive response to Milan’s offer and is set to become the club’s next manager. Sporting director Igli Tare met the Italian to unlock the move and agree the terms.
Allegri will sign a three-year deal and will earn a wage of €5 million including bonuses. The last formal steps will be taken in the next few hours, with the ex-Juventus boss keen to return after a period 11 years away from the San Siro, where he had a rather successful stint before an eventual exit.
