Fonseca had already confirmed the club’s decision last night while leaving the Stadio Meazza after a 1-1 draw against Roma.

Fonseca was under contract with Milan until 2026, with an option to 2027, but according to Sky Sport, his deal with the Rossoneri will be terminated at the end of the season as the coach was sacked within the first six months of his tenure at San Siro.

Fonseca’s compatriot Sergio Conceiçao is expected in Milan today to sign a six-month contract with an option for a further campaign.

Conceiçao will make his debut on the Rossoneri’s bench on January 3, 2025, in a Supercoppa semifinal against Juventus and his son Francisco.

Following last night’s draw against Roma, Milan sit 8th in the Serie A table with 27 points, eight below the top four, but with a game in hand.
