Chelsea have dived into the race for Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion, who had been linked with Milan, Roma and Napoli.
It is no secret that the Blues are seeking a new centre-forward this summer and they hope to sell Romelu Lukaku, who just returned to base from his loan spell at Roma.
Now Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims they are ready to pour their financial resources into targeting Omorodion.
He only turned 20 last month and spent this season on loan with Deportivo Alaves, where he scored nine goals with one assist in 35 LaLiga appearances.
That earned him interest from Roma and Napoli, but neither can compete on an economic level with Chelsea.
Milan were also mentioned four days ago, but only if the move for Bologna‘s Joshua Zirkzee falls apart.
The asking price is €40m, so the Giallorossi were hoping for a loan with option to buy agreement, while Napoli could only make the move after selling Victor Osimhen.
If Osimhen does leave, then new Napoli coach Antonio Conte’s first choice for centre-forward would be Lukaku.
Di Marzio notes the initial Chelsea offer of €30m plus €10m in add-ons was rejected by Atletico Madrid.
