Ardon Jashari is one of Milan’s top targets for the midfield, but dealing with the Belgian club has been hard.
After securing the signings of Luka Modrić and Samuele Ricci, Milan want to get more reinforcements in midfield and the name that has been on Director of Sport Igli Tare’s mind is Ardon Jashari.
The 22-year-old Swiss midfielder has only been in Belgium for one season, making the jump from Luzern last summer. However, his season was so impressive that Tare believes he is the right man to give quality and quantity to Coach Max Allegri.
Talks have been going on with Club Brugge for a while, with Tare even flying out to Belgium to directly negotiate. However, Brugge have been putting up a wall, asking a fee close to €40m to sell Jashari. The Rossoneri have had their advances rejected so far, despite having an agreement in hand with Ardon.
Milannews.it’s Antonio Vitiello and Relevo’s Matteo Moretto claims that Milan will continue pushing for Jashari. The last offer of €27m + €5m was not enough and Moretto believes Milan would be willing to go up to €35m including bonuses, but so far Brugge’s line is that this will also not be enough.
The last time Milan negotiated for a long time with Club Brugge they ended up getting their man – Charles De Ketelaere. However, that signing will not be remembered fondly as CDK failed to impress at Milan and is now no longer with the club.
The Diavolo are also interested in Granit Xhaka, although it remains to be seen whether Bayer Leverkusen will let him go.
