AC Milan Primavera coach Ignazio Abate has said that Carlo Ancelotti made him more mature when the two worked together for the Rossoneri.

Speaking during an interview with Sportitalia (via Milan News), Abate was asked about which coaches have had the biggest effect on him during his playing career.

He mentioned a number of coaches such as current Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, who have both been Milan coach whilst Abate was in the squad.

“Ancelotti made me mature. Reja helped me a lot. With Allegri I won the Scudetto,” Abate said.

Abate also talked about the late Sinisa Mihajlovic who sadly passed away earlier in 2023, most recently coaching Bologna.

“Sinisa (Mihajlovic) made me grow from a human point of view. I can’t choose one… there are so many.”

It has not been a season to remember for Abate and his Primavera side as they currently sit 14th in the league table. Despite that poor domestic form, they are actually into the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League which is an excellent achievement.

They will be facing Hajduk Split on April 21.
