Milan hauled back a two-goal deficit to hold Fiorentina to a thrilling 2-2 home draw in their last Serie A outing. Despite avoiding defeat in stunning fashion, Sergio Conceicaoโ€™s charges may have effectively ruled themselves out of contention for a fifth consecutive top-four finish.

Fiorentina took the lead only seven minutes into the game through Malick Thiawโ€™s sloppy own goal. Unable to recover from an early shock, Milan fell two goals behind three minutes later as Moise Kean hammered home Dodoโ€™s cutback from point-blank range after being left unmarked on the edge of the six-yard box.

Desperate times require desperate measures. Conceicao withdrew Yunus Musah midway through the first half in favor of Luka Jovic. However, Tammy Abraham inspired Milanโ€™s comeback with a superb solo goal. Christian Pulisic deserves the credit for a delightful assist, but it was all Abraham.

Despite dominating possession, Milan had to wait until the 64th minute to draw level as Jovic pounced on Fikayo Tomoriโ€™s hopeful through ball and finished with aplomb. Both teams had their chances in the final 25 minutes, but Mike Maignan and David de Gea prevented another change in the scoreline.

A second consecutive winless league game left Milan in mid-table as we look at our player ratings.

Milan (4-2-3-1)

Mike Maignan โ€“ 7

His defenders let him down multiple times tonight, but he stood his ground twice against Kean in the second half to help Milan avoid suffering a league double against La Viola.

Kyle Walker โ€“ 6

An unenviable display from the Manchester City loanee saw the 34-year-old make several atypical mistakes at the back. Invisible in the final third!

Malick Thiaw โ€“ 5

It was an embarrassing night for the German center-back. In addition to scoring a ridiculous own goal, he lost track of Kean more than once, nearly leading to the Italianโ€™s double.

Fikayo Tomori โ€“ 5.5

Comfortably outpaced by Albert Gudmundsson for the first goal, the English had another underwhelming game by his standard, fueling speculation he could leave Milan in the summer.

Theo Hernandez โ€“ 6.5

Though he had apathetic sequences, the Frenchman demonstrated his class multiple times and almost bagged another solo goal, only for De Geaโ€™s last-ditch save to thwart his close-range shot.

Yunus Musah โ€“ 4

Conceicao decided to sacrifice him for the greater good.

Youssouf Fofana โ€“ 5.5

Milan fans had expected more from the French midfielder, whose form has significantly dwindled since January. Erratic!

Tijjani Reijnders โ€“ 6.5

A spark in an otherwise inert Milan midfield, the Dutchman was the architect of every attacking move and nearly scored in the second half.

Christian Pulisic โ€“ 6.5

After a dismal showing against Inter, the USMNT forward returned to his usual best, even though he failed to score. In addition to assisting Abraham, he forced De Geaโ€™s fabulous save minutes after halftime.

Rafael Leao โ€“ 6

Despite showing glimpses of his individual talent, the Portuguese winger couldnโ€™t make the difference, barely threatening Fiorentinaโ€™s goal.

Tammy Abraham โ€“ 7.5

Scintillating! The goal was a piece of art, while he made Fiorentinaโ€™s defenders sweat before being taken off in the 55th minute.

Substitutes

Luka Jovic โ€“ 7

Santiago Gimenez โ€“ 5.5
