AC Milan are planning a summer raid on Villarreal, with the Rossoneri keen on luring Arnaut Danjuma and Samuel Chukwueze to the San Siro.

Italian news outlet Calciomercato claims that Milan’s chief executive officer Giorgio Furlani is scheduled to arrive in Spain on Wednesday for a face-to-face meeting with Villarreal over a potential double deal.

Danjuma spent the second half of last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur but only made nine Premier League appearances, and they decided against making his stay permanent.

The Nigeria-born winger has three years left on his contract with the Villarreal, and the La Liga club are willing to sanction another loan departure – although they will demand a €4 million fee.

Milan are reportedly long-term admirers of the Netherlands international and have been tracking his development since his days at Club Brugges in the Belgian top flight.

The Rossoneri consider Danjuma an increasingly attractive option to bolster Stefano Pioli’s attacking ranks. But they are hoping to negotiate a lower loan fee for the 26-year-old forward.

Chukwueze is another Villarreal player attracting interest from the decision-makers at San Siro, but his acquisition may be a little more complicated.

The Yellow Submarines are demanding €35m for the Nigeria international winger, but Milan will again attempt to negotiate a lower price to capture his signature.

However, Milan could face another stumbling block in their quest to lure Chukwueze to Italy, as the club has just one non-EU slot remaining following Christian Pulisic’s arrival.

If Milan are successful in their bid to sign Chukwueze, the Nigerian will occupy the slot. But the Rossoneri are also in talks to sign Porto striker Mehdi Taremi, who is of non-EU nationality.

Milan need a new striker to rival Olivier Giroud, and Taremi is currently at the top of their wishlist, but they may be forced to choose between the Iranian hitman and Chukwueze.
