Charles De Ketelaere is still formally on loan at Atalanta, so Milan must wait until February 2025 to get money from his permanent move to Bergamo.

Atalanta confirmed the permanent transfer of Belgian talent De Ketelaere from Milan in June 2024, but the official website of Lega Calcio shows that the 23-year-old is still on loan at the Gewiss Stadium.

De Ketelaere’s transfer is registered as ‘temporary’, but this doesn’t mean Atalanta won’t sign the versatile striker permanently.

Gazzetta and Corriere della Sera, in fact, report that the latest Europa League winners have an obligation to buy for €22m as soon as they earn one point in Serie A after February 1, 2025.

At that moment, De Ketelaere will formally become a new Atalanta player, joining La Dea on a permanent transfer and allowing Milan to earn €22m from the player’s sale.

De Ketelaere didn’t score a goal in 40 appearances at San Siro in his first-ever Serie A campaign in 2022-23, but had a tremendous impact in Begamo with 14 goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions last term.
