Milan intend to keep Kyle Walker, who technically joined them on loan with an option to buy from Manchester City, while Joao Felix, who has progressively floundered, will be sent back to Chelsea, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs (via Mediaset).
The Rossoneri are pleased with the contribution of the veteran, on and off the pitch. They have informed the Sky Blues that they plot to retain him. However, they might ask for a slight discount on the €5M clause to redeem him. He has stayed healthy for the most part and starred in eight matches so far.
While Walker will continue at Milan, Joao Felix has minuscule chances of being confirmed. His performances have quickly taken a tumble. Plus, he’s rather expensive. He’s tied at the hip with Sergio Conceiçao, who’s a long shot to keep helming their dugout once the season ends.
The Portuguese has scored and assisted once in nine matches so far. He has lost minutes and was deployed as a sub versus Lecce.
Despite the formula, the former was brought in to stay. Things would have had to go disastrously for him to be on the move after just six months. He hasn’t been stellar, but he’s been better than Emerson Royal and Davide Calabria, which isn’t exactly a feat, but it is enough to keep him around. Having him mentor Alex Jimenez isn’t the worst idea. They’ll have to pick a lane with the versatile talent at some point. Instead, the forward would ideally be the cherry on top of a team that works well on its own. They are very distant from being that.
