Milan continue their search for an astute candidate to fill the void caused by the departure of Franck Kessié. Several midfielders from France and other leagues have made their transfer shortlist.
According to transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are currently following multiple player profiles to identify the perfect candidates for the midfield department.
In the transfer shortlist, the likes of Raphael Onyedika, Ibrahima Sissoko, Jean Onana, and Adrian Tameze have grabbed the attention of the Milan chiefs.
Despite keeping players like Sandro Tonali, Ismail Bennacer, Rade Krunic, Tiémoué Bakayoko, Tommaso Pobega, and Yacine Adli under their ranks, the Rossoneri management remains keen on bolstering their midfield department ahead of a title-defending 2022/23 season.
As mentioned earlier, the Italian club has been keeping a close eye on Midtjilland’s Raphael Onyedika, who is only 21 and has played 53 senior matches for the Danish side. The list of potential targets also includes Ibrahima Sissoko and Jean Onana.
While Sissoko, 24, plays his trade for Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, Onana, despite showcasing inspiring individual abilities, faced relegation with Bordeaux at the end of the 2021/22 season.
Milan are understood to be tempted by young midfielders. And that’s why the 22-year-old Cameroonian is considered an alluring option for Rossoneri’s midfield.
Hellas Verona’s Adrien Tameze remains a familiar option on the respective list. Having played 78 matches in Serie A so far, the 28-year-old is aware of the needs of Italian football and could be a decent prospect for Milan. Tameze has a contract at Verona until June 2024.
