Milan identify Lyon’s Rayan Cherki as potential summer signing | OneFootball

Serie A side Milan join the race for Lyon star Rayan Cherki.

According to a report by Daniele Longo, Milan are in pursuit of Lyon attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki as they hope to add him to the team during the summer transfer window.

The Frenchman announced his departure from Lyon recently and numerous European clubs have registered their interest in him since then.

Cherki, however, remains focused on a transfer to Borussia Dortmund as he likes their player growth system and also how they have shot young players to a bigger club in a few years’ time.

The Rossoneri are directly dealing with the 21-year-old’s agent in hopes of igniting an interest in him for Milan but they have very limited options to show after an underwhelming season.

Milan will have to start the bidding with a figure around €40 million as the €22.5 million release clause was only active in the winter transfer window and has expired now. So, any interested club will have to deal with Lyon first before agreeing on personal terms with the player.
