Milan hit new statistical low following derby defeat to Inter

While the Milan derby on Sunday evening was not the best spectacle of football, it was another loss for the Rossoneri, who have not won a game of football since the 4th of January.

That was a win over struggling Salernitana, who could have got a late equaliser in the 2-1 loss. Since then, Milan have lost the grip over their season. They are outside the top four, have been knocked out of the Coppa Italia and lost to Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana.

The ongoing barren spell has seen them lose four games in a row. As per Opta, that is the first time it has happened since January to February 2017, when Vincenzo Montella was in-charge for the Rossoneri.

A strong case can be made of the fact that this is Milan’s worst run of form under Stefano Pioli, who had to see his side pick up a demoralising 5-2 defeat to Sassuolo in the previous game as well.
