Milan fight back to rescue a point from Torino

Scorers: Thiaw 30′ (OG), Zapata 68′; Morata 89′, Okafor 90+5

A late fightback by Milan rescued a 2-2 draw with Torino, but the performance from the Rossoneri was cause for concern.

Just 3o minutes into the new Paulo Fonseca era and Milan were behind at San Siro. A pinpoint cross from Duván Zapata was headed towards goal by Raoul Bellanova and then Malik Thiaw clumsily turned the ball into his own net.

Not long after being introduced onto the pitch, Álvaro Morata won his side a penalty when he was upended by Coco, that was until VAR proved that the defender had played the ball and the spot-kick was cancelled out.

Instead of finding the equaliser, Milan were then two goals behind as a lofted cross from Valentino Lazaro allowed Zapata to step between two defenders and deliver a powerful header into the back of the net.

Morata had the ball in the back of the net with ten minutes to go, but his effort was ruled out as he was clearly offside.

The Rossoneri pegged one back when a hit-and-hope from Tijjani Reijnders was deflected in by Morata.

That clearly buoyed the home side, and it almost seemed inevitable that Milan would find the equaliser. A fine finish from inside the box by Noah Okafor from a Yunus Musah assist levelled the scoring.

There were a few scares for Torino in a frenetic few minutes, but they will head back to Piedmont with a point.
