AC Milan have wasted a lot of points this season due to poor first halves, relying too much on comebacks. As highlighted by a stat, the issues have been evident since Sergio Conceicao took over the team.
Milan needed a win last night to keep up in the race for the European spots but instead, they only got one point against Fiorentina. Two early goals, in the 7th and 10th minute, made things very difficult for the Rossoneri and the outcome confirmed that.
As highlighted by Sky Italia this afternoon, as you can see in the image below, Milan have conceded six goals within the first 15 minutes since Conceicao replaced Paulo Fonseca. It’s a remarkable stat which really highlights the Rossoneri’s self-destruction.
It’s already over in the league, with Milan currently in 9th place, but the hope is that the Rossoneri can pull themselves together for the Coppa Italia. The first semi-final against Inter ended 1-1, so there is still a chance of advancing, but Conceicao’s men will not afford any early goals.
Ultimately, the aforementioned stat is also a pretty good argument why Milan should part ways with Conceicao, as he’s been unable to set up the team properly from the get-go.
