Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reacted to Cole Palmer’s absence from Chelsea training ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League derby.

The Gunners returned to winning ways against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the road last weekend.

Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard scored the goals in a game the Gunners had to win to stay in the title chase.

The north London giants now face another tricky challenge against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.

Ahead of the game, it has been reported that Palmer is a major doubt for the Blues, having missed today’s training session due to illness. Arteta reacted to the news on Arsenal.com.

“We have no control over their availability,” he said. “Whoever they put out they’ll be good. They’ve been doing better than people say.”

Arsenal were fancied to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier this season, but the Blues dominated the game.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were deservedly 2-0 ahead at one stage before a Robert Sanchez error allowed Declan Rice to score a long-range goal.

Leandro Trossard equalised soon after, and the Gunners almost won the game through Eddie Nketiah, whose effort was just wide of the target.

Arsenal can’t take the Blues lightly. The players need to start quickly tomorrow and secure an early advantage.

They need to win their remaining five games to have any chance of lifting the league title and still require Manchester City to drop points.
