This recognition comes after a dominant month where the Gunners secured four wins, showcasing their revitalised form under Arteta’s guidance, scoring 18 goals and conceding just two.
Arsenal‘s February campaign was a testament to Arteta’s tactical acumen and the team’s relentless spirit. The month kicked off with a thrilling 3-1 victory over Liverpool, reigniting their title challenge. They followed it up with decisive wins against West Ham (6-0), Burnley (5-0), and Newcastle (4-1), demonstrating their attacking prowess and defensive solidity.
Arteta expressed his gratitude for the recognition: “It’s a great honour, obviously in this league, to get recognized that way. Thank you very much to the team and the staff, they are always supporting and making us better.”
With this latest one, Arteta’s tally of Premier League Manager of the Month awards stands at an impressive seven since taking charge of Arsenal in 2019. T
his places him among an elite group of managers in the league’s history.
Some have questioned whether the Manager of the Month award is a ‘curse’, with teams often faltering after their manager wins it. Arteta, however, brushed aside those concerns, pointing to a string of victories following previous accolades: “I won it [the award] and then we won many games, so that superstition is gone”.
