In a recent update shared by journalist Mario Cortegana, it has been revealed that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is completely ‘in love’ with Real Madrid star Rodrygo.
In fact, Arteta has reportedly studied the Brazilian in detail and is convinced that he would become a superstar at Arsenal, particularly if deployed on the left wing.
The Spanish manager’s admiration goes beyond Rodrygo’s flair with the ball. What truly draws him in is the forward’s tactical intelligence and work rate.
The Brazilian has been used in various positions across Real Madrid’s frontline, and Arteta values this versatility.
The Arsenal manager believes the 24-year-old offers more without the ball than many realise, especially when it comes to understanding pressing triggers and initiating defensive pressure from the front.

For what it is worth, Arsenal are not the only club keeping tabs. Premier League sides have approached Rodrygo through intermediaries, with the Gunners closely monitoring his situation.
There is a strong belief within the Arsenal camp that Rodrygo could take their attack to the next level, offering an added layer of creativity and intensity.
However, any move is far from straightforward, as Rodrygo’s camp, led by his father and agent, refuses to enter into formal negotiations until they have had direct talks with new Madrid boss Xabi Alonso.
The Brazilian winger has made it clear that he wants to feel valued at Real Madrid. He is most comfortable on the left or in a central role and is reportedly not keen on continuing out wide on the right.
Rodrygo has also publicly stated his desire to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu. He has a contract running until 2028, with a mind-blowing €1 billion release clause. If there is to be an exit, it won’t come cheap.
For now, Rodrygo has begun pre-season training under Alonso. The key conversation between the player and the coach is expected soon.
How that meeting goes could ultimately decide whether Arteta’s dream of bringing Rodrygo to Arsenal gains any ground or ends before it truly begins.
