Mikel Arteta has spent the past several days in Asia with his Arsenal squad as they intensified preparations for the upcoming season. With the new campaign just weeks away, the Gunners are working diligently to ensure they begin strongly and in peak condition.
Arsenal’s pre-season schedule has been designed to maximise both physical readiness and global outreach. While their matches in Asia formed part of the commercial leg of their preparations, they also played a crucial role in refining the team’s tactical shape and conditioning. The tour offered valuable match practice, allowing the squad to perform in a different environment and adapt to new challenges ahead of the competitive fixtures.
Although there remain at least two weeks before the season officially begins, Arsenal are showing no signs of slowing down. With further training sessions and at least one more match to play, the focus remains firmly on maintaining momentum and improving key areas of the team’s performance.
Mikel Arteta spoke to Arsenal Media about the progress made during the trip:
“But a lot of positives to take from the camp and the boys, we go again on Wednesday.
“I think the tour in general, a big thank you, especially to all our supporters that have been with us the last 10-12 days because they made us feel incredibly privileged to represent this club and we have something really special and a big gratitude to them. Then, in terms of what we have achieved in the three games, really pleased.”
Arteta’s comments underline a broader sense of satisfaction with the team’s development thus far. The Asia tour not only enabled the squad to train and compete in unfamiliar conditions but also strengthened their bond with the club’s international supporters.
The Arsenal manager and his players have clearly valued this phase of pre-season as more than just preparation. It has served as a platform for growth, unity and connection, and it is hoped that the lessons learned and the momentum gained will translate into strong performances when the season gets underway.
