Mikel Arteta singled out Bukayo Saka for praise after the teenager’s performance in the 2-0 win over Wolves at Molineux.
Saka, who has just signed a new deal with the Gunners, opened the scoring with a lovely left-footed strike two minutes before the break.
Alexandre Lacazette added a second four minutes from time to wrap up the three points and keep Arteta’s men in the chase for a Champions League spot.
The manager had opted for a different formation, with Saka operating on the right side of attack in a 3-4-3.
Saka had a hard time adjusting to the change, but Arteta was pleased with the 18-year-old’s attitude.
“He has a lot of things to improve, that’s my message,” Arteta told Arsenal Digital.
“He struggled in some moments in the game today in the first half.
“I [played him] in a different position because I believe that he could hurt the opponent in there and he scored a really good goal.
“But what I like is that when things weren’t going for him, how he reacted and the personality to try and get the ball and fight for every ball and keep trying. He got rewarded.”
The Gunners are back in action on Tuesday when they host Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium.
