Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan and Barcelona defender Jules Koundé became the latest casualties for France as the pair had to withdraw from France’s UEFA Nations League fixture against Austria.

According to what is reported by L’Équipe, Maignan and Koundé will not be available for France’s next game against Denmark.

The report understands that while Koundé had a strain in his thigh muscle, Maignan sustained a calf injury in France’s 2-0 victory over Ralf Rangnick’s side.

As a result of those knocks, the former Sevilla defender had to come off the field in the 23rd minute of the match. Maignan stayed on the pitch until half-time but ultimately got replaced by Alphonse Aréola.

Denmark host France in the last match of the ongoing UEFA Nations League on Sunday. Although Didier Deschamps’ men were victorious on Thursday, it is not guaranteed that they will remain in League A. As things stand, either France will have to win their game in hand or they will need the favour from Croatia, who lock horns with Austria on the same day.
